Glacier National Park is in northwestern Montana, on the Canada–United States border. The park includes over 1 million acres of breathtaking mountains, lakes, waterfalls and over 1,000 different species of plants, and hundreds of species of animals.
The mountains of Glacier National Park were born over 170 million years ago are at the northern end of the Rocky Mountains. The sedimentary runoff from the mountains cause the water in many of Glacier’s lake to turn an amazing color of turquoise.
Glacier National Park is home to many large mammals including grizzly bears, moose, and mountain goats.
