Colorful Colorado is a relaxing visit to one of nature’s most beautiful places that will reduce your stress and put a smile on your face. Beginning in mid-September, Colorado’s aspen trees begin their amazing transformation from green into stunning shades of gold, orange and red. Once the aspens turn into a myriad of breathtaking color, the first snows at the highest elevations of the Rockies blanket the mountains in white.
Colorado was first organized as a territory in 1861. In 1876, President Ulysses S. Grant signed a Proclamation admitting Colorado to the Union as the 38th state. Colorado is nicknamed the “Centennial State” because it became a state a century after the signing of the United States Declaration of Independence.
Colorado is bordered by Wyoming to the north, Nebraska to the northeast, Kansas to the east, Oklahoma to the southeast, New Mexico to the south, Utah to the west, and touches Arizona to the southwest at the Four Corners
